Hoping for a summer blockbuster, Paramount Pictures released a new TV spot for “World War Z” on Tuesday (May 21). In the zombie epic, United Nations employee Gerry Lane (played by Brad Pitt ) traverses the world in a race against time to stop the pandemic that is toppling armies and governments, and threatening to decimate humanity itself. Directed by Marc Forster, the film also stars Mireille Enos, Daniella Kertesz, James Badge Dale, Matthew Fox , and David Morse. Taking matters into her own hands when it came to selecting someone to honor her mother in a biopic, Angelina Jolie will play Marcheline Bertrand in an upcoming film. Produced by Brad Pitt’s Plan B company, the movie will follow the late actress who devoted herself to humanitarian causes before dying from cancer in 2007. At age 21, Marcheline married the “Tomb Raider” star’s famous father John Voight, and later gave birth to James and Angelina.

After Angelina Jolie’s candid revelation in the New York Times on Tuesday (May 14) that she underwent a double mastectomy, friends and family are coming out in droves to support her decision. Speaking to Gossip Cop, the “Tomb Raider” star’s father Jon Voight said his “love and admiration for her can never be measured in words” and her story “will be an inspiration to all women who are vulnerable” to breast cancer.

He’s usually spot on when it comes to picking his projects, but Brad Pitt almost ran into some serious trouble with his latest flick “World War Z.” Screenwriter Damon Lindelof told Vanity Fair that what began as giddiness quickly gave way to a ton of hard work and re-shaping with the storyline. “He took me through how excited he was when he read the book, what was exciting for him, the geopolitical aspect of it. But when we started working on the script, a lot of that stuff had to fall away for the story to come together. We started shooting the thing before we locked down how it was going to end up, and it didn’t turn out the way we wanted it to.” “The thing we really need right now is someone who is not burdened by all the history that this thing is inheriting, who can see what we’ve got and tell us how to get to where we need to get.”
