He’s been paying through the nose to babymama Oksana Grigorieva as of late, and now Mel Gibson is reportedly putting her 14-year-old son Alexander Dalton on the payroll as well. According to a TMZ insider, the “Lethal Weapon” stud has agreed to pay Alex $100,000 in return for a guarantee that he won’t sue Gibson for a past incident in which he allegedly pushed Dalton onto a table. However, Mel’s rep is singing a different tune – “The deal between Mel and OG is exactly what was set forth on the record, in open court, on August 31, 2011. Mel is paying exactly the sums set forth to OG — and is paying no additional sums to Alexander Dalton or anyone else. Doing his part to help the less fortunate, Mel Gibson is back in Guatemala, where he’s doing work for the charity “Mending Kids” – the same place where he previously completed his court-ordered community service. According to TMZ , the 55-year-old actor finished his 16 required hours at the charity months ago, but has returned to the organization (which is a global non-profit that provides medical care to underprivileged children) to help out once again. Mel’s previous stop at “Mending Kids” was a part of the plea deal he made for allegedly striking ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva . Gibson’s ex-wife, Robyn Gibson, is a former President of the Malibu chapter – a place where the two have provided assistance for years.

In a move that shocked the courtroom, Oksana Grigorieva dropped her domestic violence claim against Mel Gibson at a hearing for the couple’s custody case earlier today (May 4). According to TMZ, Oksana’s lawyer, Dan Horowitz, told Judge Scott Gordon that they would no longer claim Mel’s alleged violence as grounds to take away his custody rights. Furthermore, the domestic violence protective order Grigorieva obtained, which prohibited Gibson from contacting her, has also been terminated as of today. Sources say this was an effort to extend an olive branch in an attempt to settle the custody case and as well as to open the communication lines between the two former lovers.

He’s avoided media outlets ever since his drunken rant to Oksana Grigorieva was recorded and leaked online, and now Mel Gibson is finally talking about the whole ordeal. During a recent interview, Mel took responsibility for his issues, while at the same time making sure to put it in perspective. He explained, “It’s one terribly awful moment in time, said to one person in the span of one day, and doesn’t represent what I truly believe or how I’ve treated people my entire life. If I could make that choice again, I’d make a different choice.” As for the perception that he’s a bigot and a racist, Mel shared, “I’ve never treated anyone badly or in a discriminatory way based on their gender, race, religion or sexuality — period. I don’t blame some people for thinking that though, from the garbage they heard on those leaked tapes, which have been edited.

Looking to put all the drama behind him, Mel Gibson officially turned himself in for booking on criminal battery charges last night (March 16). The “Patriot” actor walked in El Segundo Police Department in Los Angeles, CA to get his mug shot and fingerprints after being formally charged with simple misdemeanor battery for assaulting babymamma, Oksana Grigorieva . Pleading no contest to the charge, Gibson avoided a felony domestic violence count that could have landed him in jail. As Mel was being booked, his latest flick “The Beaver” was premiering at Austin’s annual music festival, South by Southwest.
