After his widely-criticized stint as last year’s host, it may come as a relief to some that Seth MacFarlane is unable to take center stage for next year’s Oscars. Taking to Twitter to announce the news on Monday (May 20), the 39-year-old comedian wrote, “Traumatized critics exhale: I’m unable to do the Oscars again, tried to make it work schedule-wise, but I need sleep.” Although he can’t make the gig happen a second year around, MacFarlane is still eager for someone else to take the role, as he added, “However, I highly recommend the job, as Zadan and Meron are two of the most talented producers in the business.” So just who should be the host of the 2014 Oscars? There is no official word yet on possibilities but Seth suggests Joaquin Phoenix take on the duties.
